International research teams have created a global list of 78 mountain regions where glaciers feed the water resources of highly populated basins (i.e.water towers). They have ranked them by their vulnerability to ecological and socio-economic changes.
We would like to share this alarming article just published by the Swiss federal research institution WSL in cooperation with National Geographic. Among the endangered areas are locations we visited for our project SHARING WATER – e.g. the Rhone glacier in Switzerland (image above).
